Sharjah’s Punitive and Correctional unit staff threw a 12-year-old a birthday party in a rather unusual setting this week – in a corrections detention centre.
The inmate’s parents were able to join the party, which was held at the centre to celebrate his 12th birthday.
The move came under a plan to socialise children and help reintroduce them into society after their detention.
