Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Sri Lanka today, following eight bombings across Catholic churches and five-star hotels.
The death toll is now at 207 with over 400 others injured and HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai shared this unifying post to Instagram:
‘Terrorists are those who betray worshippers in their places of worship, plant fear in their hearts and try to ignite religious conflicts in societies. Our condolences to the people of Sri Lanka, to the world and to everyone who works tirelessly towards tolerance and coexistence.’

Flights in and out Sri Lanka are running as scheduled but travellers are advised to allow plenty of time pre-departure from Colombo
Due to heightened security measures, we urge passengers departing Sri Lanka to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before their flight departure. At this time, Emirates’ flights between Colombo and Dubai are operating as scheduled. We are monitoring the situation closely.
