The Easter Sunday blasts across Sri Lanka will not be forgotten quickly.
The most recent reports state over 290 lives have been taken with over 500 injured; this is the biggest act of violence seen in over a decade, when the country was embroiled in a bitter civil-war.
The attacks took place at Catholic Churches, five star hotels in Colombo and religious sites and in the wake of the incident, Emirates has issued a flight caution.
Due to heightened security measures, we urge passengers departing Sri Lanka to arrive at the airport at least 4 hours before their flight departure. At this time, Emirates’ flights between Colombo and Dubai are operating as scheduled. We are monitoring the situation closely.

The world is horrified
As countless people attend Easter service today, our prayers are with the people of Sri Lanka who lost loved ones in these horrible attacks. No person, of any faith, should be fearful in their house of worship.
