Dubai is still in shock after the untimely death of Sridevi Kapoor.
The Bollywood legend passed away in her Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel room at 11pm on Saturday from accidental drowning, according to reports.
Her body remains in Dubai and the Indian authorities are working to ensure a speedy repatriation of her remains to her home country.
The case of her death has been moved to the Dubai Public Prosecution, a standard procedure, which needs to clear before her remains are transferred to the embalming unit in Muhaisna.
Update: Sridevi’s family have been granted clearance from Dubai Police to release the body for embalming.

Update: Dubai Police has handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming.

Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed.

Speculation is rife about the death on Indian news channels
However, according to the Dubai Police via the Khaleej Times, her husband, famous director Boney Kapoor, has not been called in for further questioning, after providing his statement at the scene early on Sunday morning.
