One man survived the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash, by a few minutes due to a series of occurrences. The Greek traveller, Antonis Mavropoulos, detailed the account of how it went down- sharing his supposed ticket number in a lengthy Facebook post.

An Ethiopian Airlines plane crashed on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of the 157 people onboard. The flight was en route to Nairobi from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, but despite sending out distress signals, it lost contact just six minutes after takeoff.

Only debris has been found at a site in Ethiopia from the Boeing 737, and media publications are releasing more information on passenger details.

The man shared his flight ticket on a Facebook post, detailing details on how he missed the flight

Titled “My Lucky Day,” business owner of a recycling company, Mavropoulos accounts how he missed his connecting flight in Addis Ababa, due to having less than 30 minutes to reach the gate for the next part of his trip.

“When I arrived, boarding had closed, and I saw the last passengers in the tunnel going into the plane. I yelled for them to let me in, but I was not allowed,” he wrote in the Facebook post.

The post has received thousands of comments since it was shared on Sunday

The post has since gone viral with more than 7,000 shares and comments from people telling him how lucky he is, compared to the 175 passengers who have lost their lives.

Things like this will truly make you think twice

Life is way too short, and anything can happen at any moment.

Unfortunately more than 150 souls, have left this world too soon and too tragically.

Mavropolous says he’s shared the story due to the ‘invisible threads of luck- unplanned situations – that shape the web that peoples’ lives are caught on.

Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families of the ET302 flight.
