The Driver Of The Tragic Bus Accident That Killed 17 People May Owe AED3.4 Million In Blood Money

The driver who was on duty during the tragic Dubai road accident that killed 17 passengers might have to pay AED3.4million in blood money and spend seven years in prison.

Several reports have confirmed that the Omani national will soon stand trial in court for the Eid Al Fitr holidays that had injured 13 people too.

In a tweet, the public prosecution announced that “penalties would be provided in in the law against the driver, in accordance with the federal laws in force – penalties, traffic and blood money. The penalty is imprisonment up to seven years as well as fine.”

The Oman bus crash took place near al Rashidiya Metro Station on June 6

The driver had gone into a road that was allocated only for cars, missing the road height barrier- which resulted in the accident.

Following the tragedy of this crash, the Dubai police have advised the drivers to avoid speeding to prevent terrible accidents. According to local news, if you exceed the speed limit by 60 kilometres per hour, you can be fined AED1000.
