The Dubai Business Man Who Paid AED4.5 Million For His Phone Number Can’t Use It

The man who spent AED33 million on a numberplate last year, has now coughed up AED4.5 million for a phone number…and says he can’t use the phone number because people keep ringing it.

Businessman, Balwinder Sahni made headlines last year when he purchased the number 5 numberplate at an auction – and recently bid for the phone number at an auction, the proceeds of which go to charity. 

He told newspaper, Khaleej Times

“I can never use this number. I got it in my hands at 8.30pm today and till now, within just 2 hours, I’ve received 1,000 calls.”

Sahni paid AED4,520,000 for the number: 058 888 8888 at the auction on Saturday evening. 

The auction raised AED7,440,000 for charity.
