This Family in Dubai Is Donating AED 1 Million To People Who Can’t Pay Rent

The Dubai government and its people never fail to surprise us with their generosity. We’re not even halfway done with The Year of Giving and already a family in Dubai has donated AED1 million dirhams. The money is to be distributed by the Dubai government to those who cannot afford to pay rent.

The AED1 million dirhams will be divided to specific tenants

The Dubai Land Department will spread the amount to either those who have delayed on rent payments or were found guilty for lack of payments during legal proceedings.

The generous donator is from the late Obaid Al-Helou family

The money has reportedly come from the estate of the late Obaid Al Helou, and the Dubai Land Department has teamed with the Rental Dispute Centre (RDC) to search for deserving cases to receive assistance from the money.

The committee will discover each case’s story and whether they were ‘genuinely stricken by economic hardship’, according to Gulf News.

”We would like to express our sincere thanks to the late Obeid Al-Helou family for making this noble humanitarian donation. One of our key objectives at RDC is to secure stable relations between tenants and landlords in order to sustain Dubai’s safe real estate environment, and the donation will enable us to support insolvent tenants in a meaningful way.”

His Excellency Judge Abdulqader Mousa, Director of RDC
