A British man is desperately seeking answers, after his pet cat disappeared on a journey from Dubai to England.

Mr Bailey and his wife were relocating to the UK after five years living in Dubai, and took a flight from DXB to Gatwick, with their two beloved cats.

However, when they got to Gatwick Airport, they noticed one of their beloved cats, Dinky, wasn’t there.

Donna Bailey, whose parents are the owners of Dinky the missing cat, told us the story.

The adorable Dinky escaped from Emirates Skycargo before the plane departed

Emirates conducted a full investigation but after a couple of weeks and a lot of back and forth, there was still no sign of Dinky

“The report told us that Dinky had definitely got to Gatwick. So we concentrated our efforts on searching for him in London with posters, leaflets and posting and registering him on various websites, also allowing my father Ian Lees to go airside to search for Dinky.”

Mr. Bailey decided to return to Dubai to look for Dinky

“This is when my dad received the empty carrier. After seeing the carrier it was quite clear to him and everyone helping him search that the cage had not been used for more than 11 hours. It’s was completely clean and unused. As the other carrier carrying the other cat was badly soiled, in fact the bedding had to be changed and Cleo (the cat) had to be cleaned. Therefore Dinky must have escaped here in Dubai. This is when my father returned to Dubai to look for Dinky here.”

There is a reward of AED2,500 if he’s found

“He’s (Donna’s Dad) been here since the early hours of Monday morning. We have seen Emirates and had a meeting with Skycargo. We have searched the facility in and out with Emirates help.”
