The speed camera’s in Dubai are usually very recognizable. So much so that motorists visibly slow down when approaching the camera’s. Occasionally there are temporary camera’s in place that catch motorists off guard.
However in February this year Dubai Police cleverly placed a need speed detector in the guise of a trash can on Al Fursan Road. It has apparently caught 35,000 speed violations in the past two months. It is said to not only have the ability to detect speed violations but also if motorists are on their mobile phones.
