Dubai creeps up these lists for top visited cities year on year and it’s no coincidence.

The UAE aims to have 20 million visitors by 2020 and its position on this year’s Global Destinations Cities Index shows the city is inching closer.

The Mastercard Index looks at 162 cities, the following is list is based on visitor volume per year and the average spend per day.

Bankgok, Thailand tops the list for most visited cities, while Dubai tops the list for most money spent by tourists per day (by a long shot).
