Tariq Mohammad Yousif Al Awadhi tragically died in a car accident on the Al Dhaid road on Friday.
The man who was a football referee for the UAE was travelling with his two-year-old son, his wife, his mother-in-law and housemaid, according to a report in Gulf News.
The car lost control and hit a barrier before turning over a number of times.
The accident happened at approximately 9pm and emergency services transported the group to Al Dhaid hospital by 9.30pm.
His son is in a critical condition while the condition of the other passengers is stable.
