Eric and Donald Trump Jr. Had Plenty To Say About Dubai This Weekend
The president of the United States, Donald Trump’s two sons were in Dubai on the weekend for the opening of the Trump golf course.
The two men, Donald Jnr and Eric Trump were photographed at the closed-door event on Saturday evening, which celebrated the partnership between the US president’s company, the Trump Organization and Dubai developer, DAMAC Properties.
Speaking about DAMAC’s CEO and founder, Hussain Sajwani, Eric Trump said: “It’s rare in the world where you can be such great friends with a partner and that’s what we have right here.
“Hussain, he is an amazing person and DAMAC is an amazing company.”
President Trump has recently come under fire for involvement in his business – which he announced would be run by his two sons during his term as president of the United States
Speaking at the event, Donald Jnr spoke highly of Dubai and its Ruler, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE.
He said: “To see the incredible vision Sheikh Mohammed has been able to put forward for this country is truly awe-inspiring. As a developer, which lets us be somewhat artists at times, it is truly incredible to be part of that vision.”
He added: “It’s truly awe inspiring. In Dubai, if you can envision it, you can build it.”
The use of Trump branding costs a fee, which DAMAC pays to The Trump Organization.
Trump told journalists in early January that DAMAC had offered the Trump Organization another USD2 billion in deals after his election, something which DAMAC has confirmed.
It was an offer that both sides have since confirmed was turned down.
He told reporters at a press conference: “I was offered $2 billion to do a deal in Dubai, number of deals. And I turned it down. I didn’t have to turn it down because as you know I have a no conflict situation because I’m president.”
Though it may not be the end of Dubai’s Trump developments, with Eric Trump speaking at Saturday’s gala, he said: “We are going to have a lot of fun years together and this is just the beginning of those days.”
The development is located off Emirates Road, east of Dubai Sports City and Motor City.
“We are very proud of our collaboration with DAMAC Properties and look forward to bringing a new level of challenge and luxury to Dubai at this truly spectacular property.”
