The UAE Has Announced Its Allegiance With Saudi Against Canada In The Suspension Of Trade And Diplomatic Ties
The UAE’s minister for foreign affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash has stated that the UAE is standing with Saudi Arabia in its decision to suspend diplomatic ties with Canada, following tweets from Canada’s foreign office.
Gargash tweeted on his account, in response to Saudi’s decision – which includes most recently, the suspension of flights to Toronto by Saudia – Saudi’s national airline.
The tweet reads in Arabic:
“We must stand with Saudi as it defends its leadership and laws, and takes the necessary measures regarding this issue. We cannot accept that our laws and leadership be put under any pressure or to be bargained with, It is completely unacceptable for other countries to think their modules and experiences allow them to interfere with out internal matters.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also issued a statement reading
“The UAE stands in solidarity with Riyadh in the confrontation of any foreign interference that may undermine its sovereignty.”
