A Former UAE Club Footballer Has Denied The Rape Allegations At A Palm Jumeirah Hotel
A footballer has denied rape allegations made against him pertaining to an incident at a Palm Jumeriah resort.
The Emirati, who has represented the UAE in an international football league, invited a Lebanese woman to dine at an unnamed five star Palm hotel.
They had dinner along with two other friends.
Later that night when the woman had returned to her room the man contacted her, saying he needed a phone charger. He then visited her room where together they consumed some alcoholic beverages. After the woman refused some flirtatious advances, the man became aggressive and violent, which lead the woman to ‘fear for her life’.
He grabbed her by the hair, raped hair and threatened to kill her. Read the full report here.
The Emirati pleaded not guilty
After failing to appear at the first court date at the Dubai Criminal Court, the man has now denied the allegations, according to a report in the National, which recorded the footballer saying, “No, I didn’t do it”.
The next hearing will take place on October 12.
