A Fake News Report That HH Sheikh Khalifa Is Stepping Down Has Been Denied By The National News Agency
A stark warning from the national news agency of the UAE, WAM, was shared on twitter, emphasising that attempts to fabricate the site have been made.
The national news agency shared two tweets to its official feed, warning users of the situation.

The tweets were shared on Monday evening
And on Tuesday, a bizarre hashtag began trending in Arabic…
The hashtag loosely translates to ‘Sheikh Khalifa steps down’.
With one tweeter sharing a screenshot of the evidently ‘fake news’.

However no reports confirm the information and the article is not on the authentic national news agency site, WAM.ae
Suggesting it’s a part of the attempts of fabrication on the site. The domain looks to be wam.org.ae mimicking the official news site.
Sheikh Khalifa was seen in out in an official capacity two months ago, receiving Eid Al Fitr well wishers.
Residents are warned to only trust news coming from the official site – WAM.ae.
