UBER Just Celebrated 5 Billion Rides Globally And One Dubai Driver Helped Them Cross The Milestone

Uber is set to announce today that it has reached the incredible milestone of 5 billion trips worldwide, with Dubai one of the cities which made this happen.

Uber started in 2010 to solve a simple problem: how do you get a ride at the push of a button? In late 2015, Uber made headlines for crossing the 1 billion trips mark. Six months later, the company reached 2 billion rides, and over the last 11 months Uber has witnessed incredible growth to reach an impressive combined 5 billion rides.

To reach the milestone, 156 trips started simultaneously at 7:29:06 am GMT, in 24 countries across six continents, in cities including Dubai, Alexandria, Mumbai and Moscow.

As a token of appreciation to its dedicated drivers who made this happen, Uber will be giving each of the 156 drivers who were part of this milestone $500, including Sardar Muhammad from Dubai.

Sardar has been using the Uber app for around 1 year now, during which time he has completed more than 2000 trips.

Sardar helped Uber reach the milestone on a trip to Dubai Mall.

“I really like working on the Uber app, and I consider myself lucky to be part of completing 5 billion trips globally, thank you very much”
