The UAE Visa Amnesty Programme Is Ending In A Week And Officials Have Quashed A Few Rumours
It’s just days until the UAE visa amnesty programme comes to a close – after granting all visa-overstayers a free passage out of the country since August 1.
It ends on October 31, and has seen thousands of illegal residents coming out of the woodwork to avail the no-fine overstay.
But rumours have been flying around regarding the deadline, and centres, and an official has clarified to Gulf News.
Spokesperson at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Lt Colonel Ahmad Al Dallal toldGulf News the deadline is not planned to be extended
And he also said that rumours about centres rejecting applications ahead of the deadline.
He said the rumours were caused by people approaching typing centres and not following the correct procedures – and that the centres would be open and accepting the applications until October 31.
