The amnesty programme created by UAE Government is well underway.

It’s an opportunity for anyone who has been residing in the country to legalise their status and in just two days 4,000 people have turned up to take advantage of the lenient laws.

People who have been living in the UAE nearly their whole lives have been granted leave without a return ban.

First, the 19-year-old teenager who’s AED1million fine was waived, and now the story of a woman who has been living illegally in the UAE her whole life has emerged, via Gulf News.

The woman was born here illegally and never legalised her status

The UAE has waived any fines incurred and she will be permitted to leave the country without incurring a travel ban.

The 29-year-old sought amnesty along with her 10-year-old son. The woman’s father died, she had married but her husband couldn’t afford to sponsor her.

The woman can now leave the UAE and return as a legal resident, due to the amnesty regulations. She said she had been nervous to apply for previous amnesty programmes, but as this is the first time the programme has allowed people to return to the UAE, she used this opportunity to apply.
