Authorities Have Confirmed A Weather Alert Circulating On WhatsApp Is FAKE

Rumours have been circulating on WhatsApp about a UAE heatwave, claiming temps may hit between 47-50C – and the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has made a statement on the matter.

The WhatsApp messages told residents to expect a heat wave, and to only fill up their cars with petrol in the evenings and to ensure it was never completely filled up.

A spokesperson for the NCMS said the weather is not going to get hotter – and the peaks have already hit.

The fake alert was presented posing as the Ministry of Health

But official sources have denied the alert.
