A 21-Year-Old Woman Is Facing Criminal Charges After Visiting Friends Got Into A Fight
A 21-year-old woman is facing charges of theft and assault after an altercation between her friends and a Swedish man.
According to international reports, the woman was out with friends who were visiting Dubai, when the group spotted a man sleeping on a couch in a foyer in DIFC.
The group proceeded to take photos of themselves with the man, before he woke up and began punching the people – who fled the scene.
The man called police after the fact to make a complaint, and has since transferred the complaint into the woman’s name.
The woman, who says she was not involved in the incident, has had the charges transferred to her name as the relevant parties have now left the UAE.
The woman is also charged with stealing the man’s glasses
Which, according to media reports, she ‘picked up as she was worried they’d get broken, and put them in a nearby bin’.
The incident happened in 2016, and the woman is awaiting court proceedings.
