Workers With Unpaid Salaries Peacefully Protested In Al Quoz Yesterday

About 250 workers with unpaid salaries conducted a peaceful protest in Al Quoz yesterday, demanding their pending salaries. 

The men were outside a warehouse behind Al Khail Gate when Dubai Police turned up to help resolve the situation. 

According to reports, representatives of the workers, and of the labour committee also attended to help resolve the situation – calling the new owner of the relevant company. 

The owner promised to pay the salaries of the men within two working days, relieving the situation. 

Residents with unpaid salaries can escalate the matter to the Labour Ministry. 

Under UAE law, it is illegal for companies to withhold payment of salaries.
