This Picture Has Been Voted The Best Photograph In The UAE

The UAE entry for a global photography competition has been chosen – for the Sony World Photography Awards. 

A Syrian national, based in Abu Dhabi snapped this shot, which has won the national prize. 

The National Awards is a global program open to photographers of all abilities which aims to find the “best single photograph taken by a local photographer” and is held in 65 countries.

Which is called ‘Transportation’ and reflects the fast development and innovation that the UAE has experienced over the years yet preserving its culture and identity.

“I took this photo in Abu Dhabi in September last year when the painting on the wall grabbed my attention as it represents UAE’s culture. I brought my son and dressed him up in the local’s traditional outfit that he loves the most, and made him play around with his tiny car under the painting. The photo showcased the great progress and innovation that the UAE witnessed while saving its own precious culture background.”
