Egypt Is Kicking Off In The Qatar Fiasco With Their Ambassador And A Billionaire Getting Involved
Qatar’s ambassador to Egypt has been given 48 hours to leave the country in the latest news on the Gulf fall out with Qatar.
It’s the latest update in a huge severing of ties with the Gulf country.
The UAE and Saudi Arabia have advised nationals to leave Qatar, and given Qatari nationals 14 days to leave the UAE and Saudi, but Egypt has yet to issue such a warning.
The Maldives has also joined Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt and Libya in cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar.
Meanwhile, Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris has been encouraging Egyptian businessmen to withdraw investment from Qatar
According to Reuters, the 62-year-old is sharing messages to his Twitter encouraging the breaking of ties with Qatar.
There are an estimated 200,000 Egyptian nationals currently residing in Qatar.
