There Is No Easy Way Out Of This Political Mess According To Khalaf Al Habtoor
“Yesterday was the saddest day”
Respected business man and founder of the Habtoor group Khalaf Al Habtoor posted for Arabian Business and deemed yesterday the saddest day since the Gulf Cooperation Council was formed.
“I never imagined that a brotherly country, a neighbour with which we in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) share ties of blood, would act against us behind the curtain by supporting terrorist groups threatening us all while getting cosy with our adversary, Iran.”
In the post he gives his opinion of the fall out, what it means for terrorist organisations and the Qatari people and says he hopes Qatar, a country with such similar cultures and traditions to the UAE soon rejoins the Gulf fold.

In the post, the businessman speculates of the friendship between the Emir of Qatar and former POTUS Barack Obama, who was raising the influence of Iran and while downsizing the rest of the Gulf States according to Habtoor.
“Saudi, the Emirates and Bahrain do not seek confrontation”
However, the leaders of these gulf states must remain firm and strong for the safety of the people. And all security measure put in place from today, including the closure of land road and air routes were done for safety and protection.
“We cannot forever blind our eyes and close our ears to the truth staring us in the face.”
An Appeal – don’t take it personally
“I would appeal to my Qatari brothers and sisters not to take the severing of diplomatic relations with Doha by the Kingdom, the UAE and Bahrain personally. We have been left with no choice.”
The Qatari people share the same traditions and values with the rest of the Middle East and Mr. Habtoor doesn’t believe the people of Qatar condone the behaviour of their ruler.
Jordan, Morocco and Sudan will soon join the boycott
According to Habtoor and he hopes Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman will soon follow suit. While the business man hopes for a short separation, he says there is “no turning back unless Qatar can find a way to redeem itself and the Emir should step down and allow for more honest members of the family to step up.
