Saudi Arabia has worked to reaffirm ties with countries in wake of the recent Gulf fall out with Qatar

HH King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed relations between the two countries via a phone call this week.

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adel bin Ahmad Al-Jubeir, also held talks with Christoph Heusgen, Adviser for Foreign and Security Policy in the German Chancellery, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Saudi Minister of Labour and Social Development, Dr. Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis met with the Moroccan Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Mohamed Yatim during the latest session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva.

The meetings come following a four-nation fall out with Qatar, where Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt closed air, land and sea space off to Qatar due to its funding of terrorism and extremist, according to authorities.

Qatar, meanwhile has had its credit rating downgraded

Standard & Poor’s has downgraded the country to an AA- (down one notch) due to investors pulling money from the country in the crisis.

And in the UAE, Qatar Airways’ website has now been blocked

It follows the closure of the UAE offices on Wednesday.

Saudi has also revoked Qatar Airways’ licence and closed offices of both Qatar Airways and Al Jazeera.
