The UAE State Minister For Foreign Affairs Has Spoken Out About The UAE’s Stance On Qatar

The UAE State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash has spoken out about the UAE’s approach to Qatar in an interview with AFP.

Gargash said the measures being taken in response to Qatar are not intended to overthrow the current regime, rather it’s about taking a stance on policy. 

“This is not about regime change — this is about change of policy, change of approach,” Gargash said.

He added: “We have now reached a cul-de-sac in terms of trying to convince Qatar to change course,”

He explained that Qatar is “the main champion of extremism and terrorism in the region.”
