Turkey’s Parliament Is Expected To Fast-Track The Deployment Of Troops To Qatar

Turkey’s parliament is expected to fast track the deployment of troops to Qatar according to officials from the ruling AK Party and the nationalist opposition, it was reported by Reuters.

The legislation is expected to be sped up to allow troops to be sent to a Turkish military base in Qatar. 

The legislation, which was drawn up prior to the Gulf fall out, is expected to be passed later today.

Reuters reports: “Lawmakers from Erdogan’s AK Party have proposed debating two pieces of legislation: allowing Turkish troops to be deployed in Qatar and approving an accord between the two countries on military training cooperation, AKP and nationalist opposition officials said.”
