The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority Has Offered Clarification On The Qatar Airspace Ban
The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority has issued a statement on the Qatari airspace ban to clarify the ruling.
The GCAA said it is committed to the decision to ban Qatari aircraft, however the ban does not include aircraft that is not registered in the UAE or Qatar – that wishes to cross the airspace between the countries.
The statement, posted on national news agency WAM said:
“In regard to the passage of private and chartered aircraft of the UAE airspace from and to Qatar, non-Qatari private and chartered flights, must submit a prior request to the concerned authority at the General Civil Aviation Authority at least 24 hours, including a list of names and nationalities of crews and passengers, and the cargo carried by the aircraft.”
It also said that it would: “exercise its right to impose further measures that could guarantee the security and safety of its sovereign airspace from any threat or risk in accordance with the laws and conventions governing the movement of air traffic over its airspace.”

Meanwhile a Qatari businessman has announced plans to airlift 4,000 cows to Qatar in wake of the isolation
Moutaz Al Khayyat, chairman of Power International Holding told Bloomberg he is planning to transport 4,000 Holstein dairy cows to Qatar, which would take up to 60 flights to transport to the isolated country.

It would be the biggest airlift of cows in history at a cost of USD8 million.
Several countries have severed diplomatic ties with Qatar in response to its failure to comply with repeated requests by Gulf states to adhere to policy promoting regional stability.
