8 Mini-Stories That Prove The Spirit Of Ramdan Is Well And Truly Alive In Dubai This Year

The holy month of Ramadan is a month for giving and sharing, and in Dubai this year this is clearly evident. 

There is so much love and sharing going on in Dubai right now, here are just some of the generous and charitable deeds happening in the city:

1. At the beginning of Ramadan, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed called for the public and private sector to help establish a culture of goodness during the holy month, and people listened. 

2. It wouldn’t be a Ramadan giving story in Dubai without mentioning the hugely successful Ramadan sharing fridges which are back again for the second year

2. People are either sharing their groceries or their fridges to help the needy this month

3. Dubai Municipality are playing a big part in giving back too, pictured here handing out iftars to drivers working at sunset

4. The Government staff also arranged an iftar for elderlies

Countless businesses are getting involved and making sure they’re helping out this holy month…

5. Emaar are running a successful ‘kindness box’ to help build communities

6. And Careem announced they would double any donation their customers make to UNHCR – the UN refugee agency

8. Local beauty guru Tala Samman boxing up 700 boxes to deliver to women living in labour camps in Dubai and Sharjah

And there’s still time. The Ramadan fridge page is constantly updated. The demand at some fridges is high and some of the fridges could do with some more love to keep up.
