Being Locked Inside A Room Is The Newest Most Exciting Way To Pass An Hour In Dubai

Activities like Escape Rooms are springing up everywhere to offer customers a battle of wits and a thrill because, let’s face it, bowling and pool just don’t cut it anymore.

During an Escape Room experience, your group gets locked into a themed room (in our case it was a prison cell complete with blood splattered walls) and you’ve got sixty minutes to logically figure your way out, otherwise you’re locked in, FOREVER. (Jokes).

We visited Escape Reality for some Lovin Dubai team bonding….Here’s what happened during our escape attempt

There are eight different room experiences to choose from

And you need to either break out your inner Sherlock, don your thinking-cap or rely on someone else to break free

Themes range from a Jungala room (think Jumanji) to an Iron Kingdom room for the Game of Thrones fans and there are some serial killer, zombie and prison escape rooms thrown in too

Varying levels of difficulty means there are rooms to suit everyone

All ages welcome, already the incredibly sound staff have welcomed kids from the age of 3 all the way up to people in their 70’s

A quick briefing and some costumes to set the mood prepare you for what’s ahead

We were heading to the Alcatraz room, so our costumes included bright orange convicts overalls and some manacles.

One LD team member… (don’t worry, this one didn’t make it out)

….Then you’ve got just sixty minutes to escape

We couldn’t snap pictures of the cell (it would ruin the surprises for when you visit) but no detail is spared to add to the experience and the clues are clever and just about manageable.

It’s a logical game that needs some serious team work and communication

It gives me absolutely ZERO pleasure to tell you that Team LD didn’t make it out on time. (There’s always next time!) After 60 minutes one of the staff members arrive to help you solve any remaining clues and help you out

What else do you need to know?

Located on the first floor of the Sky Indigo Building, each one hour experience costs between AED 100 – 140 per person

Opening hours are from Sunday to Wednesday
12:00pm to 10:30pm

and Thursday to Saturday
