Singer and rapper Nicki Minaj is scheduled to headline a music festival that’s the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia’s coastal city of Jeddah this month.
Fans are ecstatic, while some are confused- seeing as it is unlike the conservative country to host such events.
The news comes only a few weeks after popular Dubai club, White, announced it was launching a new venue in Jeddah- which was quickly followed by backlash, when it actually opened as a lounge rather than a club.
The ‘Super Bass’ rapper will headline at MTV’s Jeddah World Fest
Reports say Minaj will headline the festival, that will also bring in British singer Liam Payne and DJ Steve Aoki at the King Abdullah Sports Stadium on July 18.
The response by residents are wild
…as one would expect.
Some are ecstatic for the rapper’s performance
A lot of peeps seem to be confused
Since the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced plans for Vision 2030, one of its major aims is to loosen up restriction on entertainment.
Perhaps, people who are familiar with Nicki Minaj’ music, concerts and outfits are wondering how exactly she’ll perform in front of that audience.
Saudi’s changes in two year’s time have caused reaction everywhere
Dubai residents got in on the conversation too..
