Saudi Arabia Has Just Granted Girls The Right To Participate In Physical Education At School

Saudi Arabia has announced it will be allowing school girls to participate in physical education. 

It was announced on Tuesday that females at public schools will now be allowed to do the classes. 

Previously only females at private schools were allowed to do so – though it has only been the case for the past four years. 

The Education Ministry confirmed the decision and announced the classes will be in accordance with Shariah regulations, and be introduced gradually. 

Women’s rights activists had been campaigning for the rights for years.
