5 Ways To Beat The Summer Blues In Dubai

Avatar

Summer is well and truly over for another year.

The kids, and teachers, are back to school.

We’re all waiting impatiently for the temperatures to drop.

And we’re counting down the days to our next break from work.

Here’s some ways to beat those end of summer blues.

1. Plan a holiday

Nothing helps ease the depression of returning from a holiday than planning another one.

Long weekends call for a quick trip away. Winter breaks aren’t that far away either.

And with so many destinations on Dubai’s doorstep you’re spoiled for choice.

2. Hit the beach

The mercury is dropping and we can finally start to enjoy the Dubai sunshine.

Slap on the sunscreen and head to one of Dubai’s many beautiful beaches.

There’s no summer blues that can’t be fixed by some vitamin D.

3. Treat Yo’ Self

Buy the shoes. Book a massage. Order the food.

Worry about the calories and your bank balance next week.

Enjoy today, and your pizza.

4. Brunch

What problems can’t be solved by a good brunch? We love a good brunch here in Dubai and McGettigan’s JLT has the perfect one to really beat those summer blues this Friday!

Aptly named the ‘Blues Brunch’ you can expect Dubai’s top blues band Soul Society seducing you with their trumpets, saxophones and sultry tones. (They’re easy on the eye too which doesn’t hurt.)

Blues themed attire is encouraged, think Blues Brothers, which could snag you a prize.

Normal McGettigan’s brunch at the JLT branch is running with unlimited house drinks, including wine, beer, spirits and Magners and Guinness, an a la carte menu and a buffet running for over five hours for just AED249.

Book your place now – email contact@mcgettigans.com or you can book online.

5. Hit the tiles!

A night out is never a bad idea. Kick up your heels and forget about your worries.

Can’t make the daytime party? Don’t worry!

The party continues after brunch with another drinks package from 5pm to 8pm for AED199.

Then taking over McGettigan’s after Soul Society’s smooth performance is the Supernovas from 9pm to 12am. An electric violin performance followed by a DJ means those summertime blues don’t stand a chance.
