7 Ailments And Problems That Can Be Helped By Doing Hatha Yoga

Avatar

Your back is probably aching right now, your neck is stiff – you’ve got a bit of a headache and you feel a bit run down.

But there are cures to all these things – and yoga is a great preventative measure, and can also help manage those nasty aches and pains.

And Fit Republik can help with its Hatha workshops, which are being hosted three times per week for 90 minutes.

By participating in this workshop, you’ll be able to restore your body and mind, improve your flexibility and strength and even get a certificate at the end!

The Hatha yoga course is taught by Deepak, a yoga professional who trained in India.

Hatha yoga is based around poses, helping lengthen and strengthen

You’ll learn seven classic pranayamas (breathing techniques) and 13 basic asanas – seated yoga poses.

Here are seven things you can fix up with a few classes.

1. Stiffness

Okay, let’s start with the most obvious one. Yoga is always good for flexibility and mobility. Dust off those muscular cobwebs with twists, bends, stretches and flow movements.

Asana poses are a seated position so they’ll ease you into the movements without putting too much stress on your body – ideal to improve your flexibility.

2. Poor concentration

Hatha yoga helps align the body and mind, making it easier for you to concentrate and focus on things at hand. You’ll learn how to hone in on one thought or idea, rather than letting things rush through your busy brain.

Meditation and pranayamas will also help you focus, so this course is ideal with its eight techniques.

3. Back pain

If you suffer from an achey back, it could be due to a weak core. Hatha yoga will help strengthen those muscles, offering support to your spine. It also loosens up tight muscles so you’ll have increased mobility and blood-flow.

This course has a special focus on alignment, so you’ll be able to improve your posture, which will, in turn help reduce back pains.

4. Muscle weakness

Yoga is underrated for its strengthening qualities. Between the body-weight exercises, balance poses and deep, suspended movements, you’ll build up muscle in no time.

A chaturanga is basically a slow push up…

5. Poor balance

A bit wobbly on your feet? Plenty of yoga poses may seem daunting but the classes have different skill level poses – so you can work up to those gravity-defying balance poses.

Your coordination will improve too.

6. Shortness of breath

Yoga is all about the practice of deliberate, deep breathing so you can train your body to inhale deeply, and exhale. It’s a great start to help you maintain breathing patterns in everyday life.

Pranayamas are deep breathing patterns – so they are perfect to help you.

7. A crappy Instagram

Okay, not quite an ailment, but Hatha yoga poses get pretty impressive in the advanced stages – and everyone loves a good yoga pose on Instagram.

Just proceed with caution on this one, and make sure you’re only trying the poses with your instructor’s approval.

You can join the Hatha Yoga Workshop at Fit Republik which is open to men and women.

Classes are on three times per week and last for 90 minutes.
