7 Types Of People Who Work In Media In Dubai

Avatar

There are all sorts working in media and creative industries in Dubai, and it’s interesting to witness the variety of them.

You’ll see plenty of these types, among others at the Festival of Media next week, April 26 at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai.

1. The fashionistas

You know the type – they’ll do anything for an Instagram post and always look ultra-glam. They must spend at least half their pay-cheques on those Gucci mules for sure.

2. The life coaching random

“You can do it!” kind of phrases slip from their mouth. They’re positive, ambitious and are excellent conversationalists. They aren’t afraid to approach unknowns and use all the networking rules – using your name three times in sentences and have a strong handshake.

3. The young entrepreneur

Always dressed sharp, with a slick haircut or do’, this individual is quick with the business cards, and has the elevator pitch for their brand nailed – because they’ve had to.

4. The ‘omigosh I’m so busy’

They find it hard to hold a conversation because they’re so busy and their phone has exploded in the 15 minutes they’ve put it down on the table for the meeting. They’re happy to talk about how busy they are for quite some time but struggle to maintain eye-contact.

5. Multi-tasking mums

Not limited to bloggers, but the super-mums who somehow own their own business, have a toddler on their hip full time, blog and go to events like this too.

6. The #wanderlust travellers

Whatever industry they’re in, they’re here, and in the industry to travel. Every story, anecdote or fact relates back to their time abroad and they’re trying to start a travel blog on the side.

7. The party animals

Well this could encompass all types, but ain’t no party like a media party. They’re the ones who carry on with the festivities until the wee hours and can back it up night after night, with networking usually done at the nearby bars.
