Two Women Have Been Busted For Being Pregnant Outside Of Wedlock

Two women in Abu Dhabi are currently on trial for getting pregnant through illegitimate relationships. 

Information received by the official courts about the two women, who were Ethiopian and Filipino, saying that they were pregnant outside of wedlock resulted in authorities starting investigations. 

After confirming that both women were pregnant, they were both arrested.

They appeared in court just this Tuesday morning

Both women, who are being prosecuted separately, appeared in court as their case was brought to the Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance.

The Filipino woman, a Muslim, admitted to the court that she was indeed pregnant from having sex with her boyfriend.

As for the Ethiopian defendant, she stated that she was a divorcee, denied the charges, and said that the baby was not a result of an illegal affair, but that she got pregnant when she was married to her ex-husband. 

Trials have been adjourned

Trials have been adjourned until October 9, when a verdict will be made.

Illegitimate affairs and fornication is illegal by law in the UAE between a couple who are not married.
