Mark It Down: Taste Of Abu Dhabi Is Looming On The Horizon And The Line-Up Is Already Pretty Great
The Taste of Abu Dhabi is looming on the horizon and there are so many reasons to get excited about the capital’s ultimate foodie event.
The food festival, which takes place at the du Arena Abu Dhabi between November 9 and 11, is the complete day out; think live music, exquisite food from the cities best eateries, chef demos and fun cooking challenges.
This is one day trip you need to mark down in your calendar. Here are five reasons why:
1. The food
Explore the best of the best of the Abu Dhabi foodie scene. 25 top restaurants are setting up for the duration of the three day event, offering small dishes and tasters of what the venue is like.
Starters in Flooka, main course in Sho Cho, dessert in Leopold’s of London anyone?
2. The entertainment
Last year was an event to remember when The Wailers headlined. This year, the festival line up features American Duo ‘Down Here’, local favourite the ‘Maplejacks’ and ex Spandau Ballet hero Tony Hadley. Expect some serious tunes!
3. The activities
It’s not all eating; the three day festival incorporates foodie activities suitable for all ages. Take part in the Al Ain cooking challenge or visit the Etihad Chef’s Theatre for live cooking demos and culinary challenges from a recognisable line up of chefs.
4. The shopping
Together with the live food stalls, there is a selection of brands with goods on sale. Toys R Us has a stall, along with Mini Pancakes, Baskin Robbins, Primal Gym and more.
5. It’s closer than you think
Yas Island is just an hour from Abu Dhabi by car and there are 1,000 free parking spots available when you get there.
