5 Christmas Traditions You Can Find Right Here In Dubai

Avatar

Each year in the lead up to Christmas there are certain traditions that every family carries out.

Meeting Santa Claus, singing Christmas carols, decorating gingerbread cookies and giving gifts to our loved ones are just some of the festive things we look forward to each year.

Thankfully the Christmas elves at WAFI have managed to put all our favourite Christmas traditions under one Pyramid shaped roof for a spectacular festive season from December 7 – 24.

1. Meet Santa

The main man himself will be at WAFI throughout December to meet excited kids and visitors of all ages.

Step into the magical Santa’s Grotto, which opens its doors on December 7 at 7pm, for an unforgettable experience.

Kids will not only get to meet the famous Santa but they’ll get a cuddly toy, a framed photo with Santa to remember the experience and a raffle coupon for a chance to win one of two prizes from Lufthansa  German Airlines among other offers from around the mall.

Santa’s Grotto will be open from December 8-15 from 9am-10pm and will extend it’s hours from 8.30am – 10.30pm from December 16-24.

And for only AED 60 it’s a Christmas tradition that can’t be missed!

2. Decorate some gingerbread

Is it really Christmas unless you decorate, and of course eat, some gingerbread cookies?

While waiting to meet Santa at WAFI, the little ones can decorate their own gingerbread goodies!

3. A Christmas choir and tree lighting

What better way to get you in the Christmas spirit than some festive songs.

On December 7 from 5pm, to officially start the festive season at WAFI, join Kris Fade who’s hosting – and the children of Dubai British School choir as they ring in the Christmas season.

The huge Christmas tree in WAFI’s atrium will be lit up for the first time this season.

Of course Santa will also be there to officially launch the Christmas scene at WAFI.

4. Christmas Market

The best place to find an original, hand crafted presents for your loved ones is ArtE, The Makers’ Market at WAFI.

Showcasing beautiful handicrafts, ceramics, candles, fashion, accessories and much more, you’ll be sure to find the perfect Christmas gifts.

You can visit the market from December 9 -13 between 10am and 8pm.

5. Take in a Light and Sound Show

Each evening at 6.30pm, 7.30pm, WAFI will be putting on the new UAE show and then, at 8pm and 9.30pm there will be a festive show for the duration of the Christmas season.

Take in the show at the Pyramid’s entrance while on your way to visit Santa, make some gingerbread and shop for the perfect Christmas gifts.
