5 Amazing Highlights From This Year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge

What a year!

As Dubai Fitness Challenge evolves, this year there was one key learning: It’s not *just* about fitness.

In 2019, the event worked with MonViso as an official brand partner, (a water company which puts a heavy emphasis on sustainability) and so, the month-long challenge became as much about sustainability as it did about fitness. And we stan!

With thousands of residents hitting the streets to get fit and MonViso Gladiators championing various recycling initiatives throughout, here’s what went down.

5. 70,000 residents pounded down Sheikh Zayed Road for a historic run

When Dubai’s Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is up at 5am on a car-less Sheikh Zayed Road, you know it’s a special day. The turnout exceeded expectations and the mood and energy was unlike any we’ve seen before. Did you run it? You may have MonViso to thank for keeping you hydrated throughout the race.

4. Joe Wicks, fitness coach extraordinaire rallied thousands for one major group workout

That’s right, MonViso helped hydrate not one, but TWO mass fitness events. And though they didn’t quite break the Guinness World Record they were hoping for, this event should inspire us all for next year… Guinness World Record 2020, let’s do it!

3. With the help of its Gladiators, MonViso exceeded its goal of collecting 500,000 litres worth of plastic in total

To date, MonViso has collected 522,164 litres worth – a sum so great in fact, it should seriously make us all rethink our plastic consumption… AMIRITE?

2. Manal Rostom, Big Rossi and some of Dubai’s top fitness personalities all made a huge effort to complete the challenge

Shout out to everyone who completed the 30 minutes for 30 days… It’s not as easy as it looks!

Check out Nike Coach, Manal Rostom, staying hydrated with MonViso, and she got involved in other ways too, helping to educate participants about taking care of our planet.

1. The Gladiators helped people recycle and learn more about MonViso’s push towards achieving sustainability

The more you learn about the work the brand does, the better.

MonViso encourages all drinkers to recycle. The bottles are then handed over to Dgrade, (an organization that uses innovative technologies to produce fibre from plastic waste) to be transformed into 100% recycled fibre or a 50-50 cotton mix.

Available for purchase on MonViso’s official website, each sale sees the donation of AED33 to the Al Jalila Foundation. Thanks to its wider mission to give back to the community, MonViso really is a brand with a heart – donating over AED500,000 to the advancement of medical education and research – amazing!

Encouraging participants to do good while working out, the brand deployed ambassadors to inform Dubai about the simple ways you could be giving back, all part of the “Take Water. Give Life” sustainability initiative.

Not *just* about fitness, Dubai Fitness Challenge 2019 was a lesson in sustainability

Shout out to MonViso for making it happen!
