This Thoroughly Unique Iftar Onboard The QE2 Features A Free Heritage Tour And Emirati Storytelling

Avatar

Visitors have flocked to the QE2 since the iconic vessel opened its doors, however a cultural experience unlike we’ve seen before is now available for the month of Ramadan.

The unique iftar features a complimentary QE2 Heritage Tour (these usually cost AED170!), live Hakawati (Hakawati is the Arabic word for story-telling) in both English and Arabic and a seriously stellar array of authentic Emirati cuisine… this full-evening event running throughout the Holy Month is not to be missed.

Here’s what you need to know about iftar onboard the QE2

Enjoy a QE2 tour followed by the rare art form of ‘Hakawati’ throughout iftar

The tour gives you an insight into the rich history of the world’s most famous ocean-liners, followed a performance by legendary storytellers who will entertain you with traditional Emirati tales, folk stories and fictions from the Middle East, the Mediterranean and beyond.

Storytelling is an art and Hakawati and it’s performed by people who are skilled in that art. Expect to gain a wealth of knowledge via the tour, before powerful performances that will wow both young and old.

This is a grand affair

Dubbed ‘Majlis Al Malika’ for the duration of the Holy Month, the Queens Rooms have been transformed into an Arabian style majlis, which will be the setting for the story-telling experience and extensive buffet.

A journey into genuine Emirati cuisine

Not your average buffet; local chef Abdulla Juma has created a special spread that can only be described as a journey into Emirati gastronomy.

Famous for combining home-style cooking with refined culinary techniques, guests can look forward to traditional Threed Meat and Harees meat dish.
