One restaurant. 12 hours. And the blood, sweat and tears (calm down, it’s just a phrase!) of an entire hotel staff went into creating a fresh new concept.
A restaurant at Lapita, Dubai Parks and Resorts underwent a crazy transformation in just 12 hours; and is now a trendy Asian pop-up, serving up Asian eats inspired by China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and Korea… this is one to add to your foodie bucket list, before it’s too late – it’s a pop-up concept and won’t be around forever.

Turning a restaurant around in a short time is no easy feat
It wasn’t just the look and feel of the restaurant that changed shape. Menu construction and tasting were both completed in the half-day redesign.
The idea was the brainchild of Lily Chensiru, Hikina’s restaurant manager, and the whole hotel staff pitched in to make it happen, including the engineering, rooms division, finance, I.T, sales and marketing and executive committee teams.
The Asian street-market style is completed with repurposed existing materials, including old fittings and furnishings to get that authentic feel.
Open kitchens preparing authentic East Asian delights
The chefs work in an open kitchen setting so you can get a full view of the wide array of epic hot pot ingredients and broths available, giving you the chance to experiment and create your own unique broth too.
Perfect for sharing, you can cook up the hot pot yourself – so it’s cooked exactly how you like it.
The rest of the menu is a what’s what of fantastic Far Eastern flavours; get excited for authentic hand-crafted Shandong dumplings, buns, sticks, traditional hot pot, short rib yakitori and miso glazed octopus.
