9 Signs You’re Going Through A ‘Quarter-Life Crisis’ And How You Can Get Through It

Adulting is not as easy as it looks.

People in their mid 20s to early 30s grew up thinking life was sorted; you’d finish school, get a degree, find a job and you’re done, simple as.

Not anymore.

These days, you finish uni and realise the world is not your oyster, you don’t simply fall into the dream job and all of a sudden doubt begins to creep in…

Here are nine signs you’re going through a quarter-life crisis (and how to get through it)…

LinkedIn, the business and employment-oriented social networking service that you know and love, talked to thousands of professionals globally to question whether they’ve experienced a quarter-life crisis, what triggered it, and the career implications…

Hands up if you can relate to any of these…

The majority of 25 to 33-year-olds have experienced a quarter-life crisis

Yup, 75% admit to experiencing some self-doubt about a career, relationships or finances.

It’s certainly a big number, but at least everyone’s in the same boat, eh?!

You might be worried about what to do next (59%), frustrated about career options (54%), or simply stuck in a rut (44%).

Fear not friends, here are two important reminders to get you through even the most miserable of Sundays…

This too shall pass…

Though you may be working all hours of the day, for a boss who takes their own personal drama out on you, (what’s up with that?) or working a job a monkey could do…remember, this shall pass.

No one walks into their dream job, and nothing worth having comes easy, so stick it out, and soon you could find yourself in a better position.

Don’t compare yourself to others

Don’t follow someone else’s path, make your own.

Design your own personal goals.

What do you need to achieve happiness professionally and personally? Mark down the goals to help you get there and remember, there WILL be stumbling blocks on the way.

Nobody has it easy, and remember, everybody is at a different stage in their career.
