The New McGettigan’s Has Just Opened In Madinat Jumeirah And It Looks PHENOMENAL
Let’s face it; an Irish person won’t usually be caught dead in an Irish bar abroad…so when you’ve got an Irish bar in Dubai absolutely packed week-in-week-out, you know it’s got something special.
And McGettigan’s is that special case; with a fourth Dubai location (JLT, DWTC and DXB being the first three) having just set up shop at an IDEAL spot near the main Souk Madinat entrance, it’s pretty clear why the masses are already flocking to the Madinat’s newest serious sports bar.
An Irish bar with a modern twist…
The brand-spanking-new spot has an added touch of class due to it’s snazzy location, yet the familiar dark hardened wood décor, cosy nooks filled with massive comfy leather booths, and green forest imagery are quick reminders that you’re still in good ‘aul McGett’s…same same, but different.
A Little Bit Of McGett’s History
With roots deep in the heart of County Dublin since the 1960’s, the empire has expanded across three continents, including bars in New York, Singapore, Abu Dhabi, Fujairah and all across Ireland.
The pub group, which was originally created by Jim McGettigan, is a family business and the vision for a chain of Irish pubs under the family name originated through Jim’s son, Dennis McGettigan. The group now employs over 300 staff members, and with further expansion planned (2017 will see new Al Ain and Bahrain locations as well as Dubai’s FIFTH location) we can’t wait to see what’s next for this remarkable Irish export.

Ladies nights on Tuesdays mean four complimentary drinks per lady starting from 8pm, and the added bonus of a ladies night menu featuring some McGett’s classics for only AED 30! Think tangy chicken wings, crispy calamari and the big fat famous McGettigan’s chips.
The daily happy hour runs from 2pm until 8pm with drinks for just AED 29 or, go on and treat yo’ self to a traditional roast with all the trimmings, (and then some!), for just AED 109, served on both Saturdays and Sundays.
And a little something to look forward to…
Coming soon, the McGettigan’s ‘Long Lunch’ is a twist on the classic McGett’s brunch. Every Friday, choose your starting time between noon and 5 pm and enjoy a three course meal and five drinks (including bubbles!) for AED 279, or a full free flowing drinks package for AED 349.
This is followed by our absolute favourite ‘drunch’ (post-drinks brunch). Perfect for those who can’t handle brunches beginning at 12pm (which is just about everyone if you ask us), this is a free flow of drinks from 5 – 8 pm for AED 199.
