Why Ras Al Khaimah Is The Ultimate Destination This Summer

Avatar

Just a one-hour drive from Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah makes for a beautiful day out, or weekend away.

With smooth roads to the emirate, brilliant beaches and some of the best stores in the country, it’s well worth a trip.

Here are some top reasons that you should definitely make the trip to RAK this summer.

1. The Cellars

No trip to RAK would be complete without a visit to The Cellars Ras Al Khaimah.

This extensive store hosts one of the biggest ranges of alcohol in the region, has bargain-basement prices and is open every day throughout summer.

Whether you’re making the trip to RAK just for this, or using it as a pitstop, it’s a store you absolutely don’t want to miss out on. (Just make sure you have enough space in the boot for all your purchases!)

Did we mention it’s open EVERY SINGLE DAY?

ALSO, if you fancy stocking up – spending AED2,500 will get you a FREE Samsung 32′ LED TV or a Samsung tablet.

Plus if you spend AED1,500, you’ll get a voucher for AED500 to spend at The Cellars.

AND

By spending AED500, you’ll be in the running for a weekly draw to win AED2,000 worth of travel vouchers for Musafir.com!

2. Golf

With two world-class golf courses, RAK is a great place to get away for a golf staycation. You can spend a day at the Al Hamra course before heading over to Tower Links Golf Course.

3. The hotels

Al Hamra is an affordable stop, or if you want to go all out, the Waldorf Astoria is a beautiful choice with sprawling grounds.

Added to that, the laws are a little more liberal in RAK during the summer months, so you can party up a storm all season long.

If that’s not your budget, you can create your own hotel minibar with your purchases from The Cellars Ras Al Khaimah.

4. It’s only an hour away

How can you not? It’s an easy drive in the car and will have you out of the city, and out of your head for a while.

5. The quiet

Everywhere we go in Dubai, you hear noise. Construction sounds, cars, traffic, people, horns, banging and the like.

A visit to RAK will almost have your ears ringing with the peace and quiet. Absolute bliss.

6. Jebel Jais

The tallest mountain in the UAE, Jebel Jais is a beautiful drive through amazing rocky terrain.

And while you’re up in the mountains, why not try the UAE’s largest zipline? Via Ferrata is a rock climbing course with some seriously thrilling ziplines down.

7. The hiking trails

The Stairway to Heaven is an in impressive hike for serious trekkers. While the route can be covered in a day, this is not for the faint-hearted and many undertake this trail over two days to avoid discomfort. The trail takes you from a RAK starting point through to Oman.

Take note: this trail is not for the unfit.
