The World’s Leading Light Festival Is Returning To Sharjah This February

Each year, images of iconic landmarks in Sharjah go viral across the internet.

With everything from mosques, university buildings and city halls lit up in extraordinary light designs… And it’s all part of the Sharjah Light Festival. Back for its ninth year, the lights festival has grown year-on-year and become a go-to for families across the UAE.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Sharjah Light Festival

This will be an expression of science, heritage, creativity and colour

And it looks AMAZING. There’s something simply beautiful about lights in a dark sky and across the 11-day period Sharjah is LIT.

People from all over the world will travel to photographer the region for the festival, which is the product of 20 renowned artists and 27 iconic Sharjah landmarks.

The must-visit festival is perfect for families (and food truck lovers!)

As the festival has expanded, the event now includes a food truck area with 30 food trucks and stalls! The converted car park is offering international cuisines from the emirate’s most popular dining destinations, while live music will add to the fun of the event. Families, foodies, and night lights lovers will appreciate this festival.

Mark your calendar: Here are the unmissable shows taking place throughout the festival

The opening ceremony takes place at 8.15pm at Sharjah City Municipality, created by artist Laurent Langlois, this will be repeated from 6pm – 11pm on weekdays and 6pm to 12am on weekends.

Head to Khalid Lagoon 9pm DAILY to catch this live show (excluding February 11) where you’ll see insane light shows, including Laser Mapping and a water carnival.
