5 Facts Every Movie-Buff Needs To Know About The New Spider-Man Release

Avatar

Two months ago, Avengers: End Game happened and fans felt like their (Marvel) universe had come to an end.

But all was not lost…

RIGHT before despair set in, the trailer for Spider-Man: Far from Home was released and the world rejoiced. The brilliantly-timed trailer drop (note, it featured a MAJOR End Game spoiler) was the proof that the Marvel Cinematic Universe lives on (hurrah!).

It was the validation every fan needed that a world of possibilities awaits and as the actual release date looms (it opens in UAE cinemas on July 4!) we bring you five facts every movie-buff needs to know about the new movie.

5. This is VERY MUCH part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Fans of Avengers will be a fan of this, it’s simply the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And because it’s unlikely we’ll see an epic movie-universe of this calibre for a long time (sorry Justice League), you have no excuse not to check this out. From Iron Man and Avengers, to the incredible Captain America, this set concludes with Spider-Man: Far From Home and we’re just happy we’ve got one more to check out.

4. Spider-Man goes international for the first time

While the familiar backdrop of the New York metropolis features, Spider-Man stretches his legs on a European adventure that takes him to England, the Czech Republic and Italy. The locations are stunning and watch out for recognisable landmarks which feature throughout.

3. Jake Gyllenhaal is the unexpected hero as Mysterio

Not that this movie was in any need of further star power with heavy weights Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Holland and Jon Favreau already on board, but Jake Gyllenhaal is an incredible addition to the stellar cast. Gyllenhaal aka Quentin Beck / Mysterio will team up with Spider-Man to save the world and it’s the only hero partnership you need.

Plus it looks like the cast and crew are very much friends on and off the set in the post shared by Gyllenhaal

2. Zendaya is back and she’s as amazing as ever

The talented Zendaya can do no wrong. In this movie, she plays Michelle, Peter Parker’s love-interest and it’s the big-screen love story that needs to happen.

From her incredible performance in The Greatest Showman and, of course, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Zendaya’s Hollywood star power is on the rise and it’s no secret why- So much love for this actress!

She even posted about the new movie, but warned her 57 MILLION Instagram followers that it does feature spoilers…

1. The movie is already certified ‘fresh’ on Rotton Tomatoes with a whopping 91% approval rating

BOOM! Saving the best till last, the first reviews are in and every reviewer worth their salt has jumped onto popular review site Rotten Tomatoes to share their thoughts… and a quick scour of the comments from top critics prove this movie is simply not to be missed.

With a 91% approval rating from Rotten Tomatoes, you can expect veryyyy good things.

Stephanie Zacharek from Time Magazine dubbed Spider-Man: Far from Home a delightful teen movie, New York Magazine praised Holland’s energy and focus, while The Atlantic stated it’s ‘a bouncy addition to a bulging franchise with just enough fringe zaniness to help it stand out from the pack.’

Buzzing to finally watch this!
