11 Spots In Dubai That Will Make You Want To Put On Your Running Shoes

Avatar

Running is perhaps one of our fave forms of cardio and is a very doable activity in Dubai.

Okay, you might be able to complain about the weather hindering your running plans at (most) times BUT you definitely can’t complain about the city not having enough places to get your feet moving or not being able to look good while you’re doing it, since Stadium UAE have you covered. They bring together 48 of the world’s most amazing sports brands in one place so there really is no excuse for not looking and feeling the part. Don’t believe us? Check out their Instagram page for a sneaky peak!

And once you’re all kit-ted out, these are some great (mostly) free-to-use spaces based on different areas in Dubai (just to make it easy!).

1. If you live in Downtown or Business Bay…

The one km track built around the Bay Avenue Park is ideal for evening runs. Along with views of the vast green lawns and the children at the nearby playground, you can also watch skate boarders at the skate park situated there or make use of the outdoor gymnasium. It is open 24 hours.

2. If you live in Barsha…

There’s no better place to run on than the soft spongy track of the Barsha Park. The 1.4km track is marked at every 100m which is great if you’d like to measure your progress. The park is open from 8am to 10pm daily.

3. If you live on Al Wasl Road…

Your first choice should be the Safa Park for your cardio session. Though there’s the Dubai Canal project work going on all around, the 3.4km jogging track still stands out (it opened last year and it’s pretty much like the old one). Since the track is located on the perimeter of the park, it is available for use all day – park timings do not apply!

4. If you live on The Palm…

Ittihad Park’s 2.7km track offers some pretty decent views. Expect a route which includes running alongside the monorail around the Trump Tower station. The best place to access it is from the front of the Fairmont Hotel.

5. If you live in Dubai Marina…

It doesn’t promise you a spongy track but you get views that will keep you going. The only drawback of this 4.5km journey is having to run in between pedestrians every now and then.

6. If you live in Bur Dubai…

Opened not too long ago, Mankool Park is a real hidden gem. The track is small, but is highly appreciated by all fitness freaks.

7. If you live in JBR…

The Beach has an amazing soft track running alongside the water. If people strolling around doesn’t bother you too much, chances are you will love this place.

8. If you live in Karama…

The track around Zabeel Park might just be 2km but each side boasts a different view of Dubai. Don’t be surprised at seeing yoga happen on the grass or groups holding laughter clubs as you run past.

9. If you live in Jumeirah…

You could be running towards or against the beautiful Burj Al Arab when you’re on this 14km track that extends along the corniche all the way to Dubai Marine Beach Resort. Summer is perhaps the best time to use it because you can cool off with a dip in the sea right after.

10. If you live in Mirdif…

Mushrif Park’s cycle track doubles up as a running track. The little hills on the track will have you thinking you’re on a warrior challenge (just kidding). The track is 4.5km long and can be used between 8am to 11pm. Entry is charged per person (AED 5) or per car (AED 30).

11. And there’s one just for the ladies

Dubai Creek Park’s 4km track is dedicated to ladies and children only on Wednesdays. So gather your girls and get running anytime from 8am to 11pm. Entry to the park is AED 5.
