This New Madinat Resto Looks Like Something You’d Find On A Greek Island
If you’ve ever dreamed of dining with the Greeks (unfortunately without the three generations of la familia you’d expect to see, gathered around a table laden with food), now you can.
Introducing Taverna Greek Kitchen – a proper slice of Greece in Dubai, located on the edge of the Madinat waterways, complete with stone walls, wooden fixtures with an authentic menu to match.
This place looks like it’s been lifted right off a Greek island and transported to Dubai
And it should definitely be on your hitlist, here’s what you need to know:
Taverna Greek Kitchen has the rustic feel of a traditional Greek resto
You’ll feel immediately welcome when you step into this cosy, open-style kitchen.
The food is equally traditional and the concept is sharing style
If you love meze, you’ll LOVE this menu.
There’s a wide mix of cold and hot plates for you to tuck into. This is amazing for big groups, or equally cute for two people to share; start your culinary journey with classic Greek dishes Tzatziki, Taramosalata and Athinaiki or for something a little unique try the slow braised octopus with vinegar, oregano, onion, Salicornia and extra virgin olive oil. DE-lish.
Think market vibes with an amazing display of fresh fish
There is NOTHING like fresh seafood cooked to order, and simplicity is the order of the day here.
Choose your fish, and have it grilled on the wood-fire grill, baked or salt baked with lemon and oil, and served with fresh horta (wild greens).
The catch of the day varies, but you can expect the likes of sea bass, grouper, red snapper, sardines and rock fish from the fish market style set-up, along with traditional Souvlaki skewers served with homemade wood-fired pita bread, Greek fries and tzatziki.
Finish your meal with traditional Greek doughnuts (Loukoumades), Greek coffee tiramisu or Greek yoghurt pavlova… Yum!
The attention to detail is amazing, it would make any house proud mama proud
