The Verdict: This May Possibly Be The Best Gourmet Turkish Burger In Town

Avatar

This may be a controversial call, but I’m going for it: I may just have had the best gourmet burger in town.

Recently I spoke to a food critic who told me little tricks to accurately judge a restaurant, so I put my skills to the test when I visited Mado located in Umm Suqeim 1, Jumeirah 3, and the burger and restaurant came up trumps.

Forget the fast food variety, the Turkish burger at Mado is a beautiful combination of quality meat tucked neatly into freshly baked bread. Here’s what you need to know:

THIS is the unreal juicy burger served with the famous Eskander Sauce, baby rocca and pomegranate seeds…

Just as important as the burger (if not more so) are the sides, and this bad boy comes with a helping of thick onion mushroom gravy, pickled red cabbage fries and Mado’s special sauce

Needless to say, it didn’t last long…

There’s a tempting chocolate mud pie on the menu too, topped with Oreo crumble and a creamy rice pudding beneath (AED36)

To judge a restaurant accurately you need to consider your surroundings…

Mado is a huge villa converted into the recognisable Turkish restaurant. It’s comfortable and cosy, and the welcoming arched hallway is filled with authentic baklava, wrapped treats for gifts and goats milk ice cream goodies.

(Okay we diverted from the burger with pistachio baklava, but all in the name of research!)

You can get your hands on the Turkish burger at Mado right now for AED75
